If you’re anything like me, you wear many hats.
You’re a wife. You’re a mom. You manage your home, the cooking, the cleaning, the kids, AND the finances.
It’s a lot to keep up with. So you when you’re trying to save money you don’t always have time for clipping coupons, you don’t want to take cold showers, and unplugging EVERYTHING in your house just isn’t gonna happen.
You need super simple ideas you can actually implement without depriving yourself and your family.
Because you’ve got debt you need to pay off and kids you want to stay at home with (instead of daycare), but you want a simpler approach to frugal living to make it happen.
And, boy, do I know how that feels.
I didn’t think I would EVER be a stay at home mom.
Just like you, I’ve struggled with budgeting and managing money. We were spending more than we made eating fast food every night and using our credit card in-between paydays.
I hated that our finances were such a mess. And I was sick of daycare drop-offs every day with my son.
I really wanted to be a stay at home mom, but there was no way we could afford it. So when we got pregnant again, I was determined to make it happen.
I made myself a promise that by the end of my maternity leave I was gonna quit my job and stay at home with both my kids — even though my husband only made $35,000 a year.
We worked our tails off my entire pregnancy. We cut our spending by over $22,000 that year, paid off $10,000 debt, and I was able to quit my job two weeks BEFORE I was supposed to return to work!
I researched how to manage money, started changing things we could control, and adopted simple frugal living ideas to help us live well on a one-income budget.
Five years later? I’m still doing it! Plus, we have two more kids!
What started off as an impossible dream, we made happen even on a low-ish income!
